The Chairman and CEO of India, Indra Nooyi, is a native of India. Incidentally, the country of India is becoming increasingly important to PepsiCo. The competitive strategy of PepsiCo has been incredibly effective there thus far. PepsiCo is succeeding in an incredibly poor country. Interestingly enough, their efforts in the country are both a social mission and a financial success. In the food plant engineering industry, we know that PepsiCo India is the country’s largest food and beverage business by far. In the next four years, India’s poverty rate is expected to drop over ten percent. This is incredible news, and great for the people of the country!
